Dreams Are Delicate (Creatures), They Slip Away So Easily
She promised we'd talk
But we never did.
He promised we'd sing
But we never sang.
They told me they would
But they never did.
I thought it'd all happen
But nothing ever did.
Kingdom
Roads meant for you to walk on
Are now barren land.
Your feet don't reach the ground,
Heaven is your holy land.
You won't let anyone touch those
Sun-kissed skies
You own them now.
On your way to the moon,
Can I ask you a question?
In the deserted cities,
And all the bedrooms you left behind,
I wonder,
Will there ever be a life with you and I?
Passing the state line
I was long deaf,
Oh, what I would give
To talk to you again.
Through these landscapes of snow,
I wonder,
Can I ask a question?
Your father keeps your boots immaculate
He cleans them everyday,
As he walks across the yard
His hands shake harder than mine ever have,
I never knew.
Can I ask you a question?
Is there space for me in the skies?
To You, They are Faraway Lands
Do you recall the leaves?
Cracking under those military boots
You were lost in the early spring hours.
But here, the particles of sand only bring sorrow,
And yet
I've never felt anything like Egypt sand.
In the summer you walk,
In the winter you run,
In the spring you break, relentlessly,
In your fall you become.
And yes, the times have changed,
Here, tables don't turn,
Through the five lives I've lived
My feet have taken root in the ground,
Now I can't move.
But all I can tell you is,
Amid all this chaos
Briefly
I saw
I lived
I saw
A woman’s heart break
And never mend.
A Poem for Former Lovers
A question
Unanswered
You'd look for me anywhere
And I look for you everywhere.
Worlds
I’m grateful for today
Cause there’s no tomorrow
Would you let me touch your skin
So I know it’s all real
This beauty
This Earth
This love
And this street, your hometown.
Girls
Oh, I wish there was a ladder in hell
I could climb to get out of here.
Oh, silly girl!
Hasn’t your mother taught you to dream?
Hasn’t the world taught you not to?
It's Time
Whatever you think of me, do,
Whatever this was, know that it was,
Whatever will happen, let the stream flow,
Do not resist.
Whatever will happen, already has,
Don't you know?
History
Nothing has changed
And I fear
Nothing ever will.
We go around in circles
Till our final days.
(I don't think you understand yet.)
Space and Time
I know you think of me still
You’d never tell a soul
I know, secretly you wonder about me, too
I know we haven’t met since
And never will again
Funny
But I keep thinking of you
And you of me
Do our thoughts meet
In the open space?
Conscious
Don’t make me fall asleep
I’m too busy
Wondering
What could have been.
Our Backs Against Each Other
I don’t know what to say,
Are there even words?
They feel out of touch now,
As we too fell out of love on a Sunday morning
Behind the red barn
Just like them.
You were holding my hand as I was yours,
The door bursts open,
On which side are you?
The Past is Ours
You say you didn’t forget
But I did,
I made sure the doors were closed
Behind our backs,
But now yours is touching mine
And I can’t let your hand
Go!
Imagine me in another life,
Would I be prettier?
Would I be happier?
Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes.

Famous Last Words
And if there is one thing I want you to know,
It’s this:
I’ve forgiven you
A long time ago.
I Have Lost the Game, I Never Had a Chance
November breeze invites me
To dance
Invites me in
From the cold
I know, I know
,,Freezing is good
For the soul’’
No harm in playing the game
Of circles and turning
Tables
And pointing fingers
Setting fires
Without putting them out
Just know,
In the end
The only one standing
Is never you.
Remembering
I keep flashing back to better times
The worst we've ever had
I hold in my hand our dearest memories
Nothing that the wind won’t carry
Nothing that rainfall won’t wash away
Sand, earth, particles of it. Light!
Wrap your hands around me
Hold me tight
